What music genres are in your collection? 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, Acoustic, Big Band, Classic Rock, Classical, Country, Dance, Folk, Funk, Gospel, Hip Hop, Jazz, Motown, Oldies, Orchestra, Pop, Punk Rock, R&B, Rock, Soul, Strings, Swing, World, just about everything.
Describe your DJ style: AnyDayDJ.com IS: Professional, young & trendy, dependable, current with the new music & versed with the old music, tech-focused, fun, talented on the decks, empathetic, warm and inviting, friendly, family-oriented, and 100% here to serve the client.
AnyDayDJ.com IS NOT: Corny, late, outdated, unreliable, show-offy, overbearing on the microphone, unkempt, annoying, more concerned with texting than with your event, cheesey, a kids' birthday party clown, more concerned with snagging a free meal or a free drink than with doing our job, and a million other things we have seen from other DJs.
Is there a limit to the amount of music that can be requested? Only as much as the laws of time and space can allow.
What is your usual attire? Our DJs are well-dressed and trendy. No dorky tuxedos or fedoras.
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it? Thanks to the digital age, we are able to satisfy all song requests, even obscure YouTube performances.
How many other DJs do you work with? We have four wedding & event DJs as of June 2015: Ramsey Coates, Sterling Barnes, Megan Davis, & Matt McKinney
We also have a team of club DJs.
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for a wedding reception? Two hours is our bare minimum for a wedding reception, but not recommended. For a reception to even get through the pageantry and a good meal requires at least three hours, but even that feels rushed.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking? Yes. We will meet with you as many times as you want to in between the time you sign the contract and the date of the event. We are even able to arrange for webcam meetings for destination weddings. These DJ appointments are crucial and we always deliver.
Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events? Though we don't specialize in any ethnic events, we are experienced in a variety of weddings of different cultures such as Cajun, Filipino, South & Central American, & Asian, among others.
Can the client submit a do-not-play list? Yes, and we highly recommend it!
Do you bring your own equipment? We bring all of our own equipment, and most of our DJs own their equipment. If any equipment fails, we have a storage unit full of backups.
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service? Each DJ has a set of dance lighting such as rotating LEDs and sparkle lasers that fill the room.
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on? Our contract allows for 45 minutes, but with weddings we like to arrive around an hour to an hour and a half before scheduled show time. We prefer for the venue to have a table and linen for us so that we match the rest of the room, but we do have our own tables & linens if none are available.
Do you have any extra space requirements? At least a minimum of eight feet by four feet.
Do you have a sign or banner that you use at events? We think it's tasteless for a DJ to set up a banner at a wedding, but we do have a small stack of business cards ready for anyone who asks.
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs? Emceeing the event is the whole purpose of the wedding DJ industry. We are skilled orators and experienced in wedding flow. Our main hook is to get the job done and keep the guests informed and entertained without being overbearing or trying too hard to draw attention away from the couple and onto ourselves.
How would you motivate the crowd if no one is dancing? What sets us apart is our talent for knowing the music. With any crowd, we can infer that perfect song to get everyone out on the floor and mix it perfectly with the next perfect song. We don't beg people to get on the dance floor, and we don't get out there and try to teach guests how to do the Hokey Pokey; we do what DJs are supposed to do and play damn good music.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal? We normally do not take breaks. However the client sometimes invites us to eat dinner with them, and if so we wait until everybody has gone through the line and prepare ourselves a light meal that we can eat fairly fast and get back to work.
Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks? If we do stop to eat, of course we'll have our playlist running on auto-play.
What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event? As professionals, we NEVER back out on a contracted booking. If there ever was a worst case scenario, we have a team of wedding DJs available to fill in for each other in an emergency. That is one thing you will never get with a solo DJ. We get last minute calls all the time from brides/grooms who booked a solo DJ who backed out at the last minute. Don't let it happen to you!
Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day? We never book one DJ on more than one wedding in a day, period. Occasionally, we may book ourselves a nightclub gig after a wedding, but always with enough time in between. Nothing will ever take priority over your special day.
What is your overtime rate? If at the wedding you decide that you want more time than you booked, it's $200/hr and it must be given to the DJ before he/she goes into overtime. (Forgive this strict policy, but our DJs have been taken advantage of in the past.) To save money, we recommend booking your extra time before the day of the wedding for $150/hr instead.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge? For bookings outside of the Pensacola/Gulf Breeze area we charge $.50/mile, and that goes straight to the DJ for their gas and travel time.
What is the required deposit to secure your services? A 50% deposit and a signed contract are required to lock in the date, and the remaining balance is due 2 weeks before the event.
