Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, that love or love-to-hate-it holiday that rolls around every February 14th. No matter if you have a special someone or want to spend tomorrow warding off the thought of being in a relationship by spending time alone or with friends, we've got a list of some atypical ways to spend this Valentines Day. It doesn't matter who you spend the day with, you're bound to make some memories and not be bombarded with roses, smootching, and cupid's arrow.
What better excuse for a morning filled with mimosas, frittatas, and pastries than a holiday falling on a Sunday? While most couples will probably opt for a fancy dinner later in the day, you can avoid the crowds and the overpriced menus by finding a great spot for brunch to get your Sunday started right.
You know that local art or history museum you've been saying you would visit but just haven't yet? Maybe there's a new gallery in your area just waiting for you to check it out. Valentines is the perfect time to visit a museum, making it either romantic or just the opposite, and do something a little out of the norm.
3. Indoor Picnic
Imagine the look on their face when you plan a wonderful surprise picnic in your living room for your beau, bestie, or beloved Fido. adding elements such as Netflix, candles, junk food, or your favorite beverage can complete the feeling you hope to accomplish. Bonus: avoid those pricey (and packed!) restaurants!
In Pensacola, indoor ice skating is still open and always promises a fun time. If you're not in this area, find a local arena, rollerskating rink, or break out your old wheels and take a spin around a beautiful park!
Nothing says "hot steamy valentine" quite like a sweaty work out. Maybe find a new yoga class to try with your Valentine, go for a run on a new path, or pick up a game of tennis or basketball. Celebrate Valentines Day and feel good about doing something healthy... win win!
Your Valentines Day can be spent professing your love or professing your singledom- either way, we think doing something slightly out of the box will help you spend February 14th wisely. Romantic, candlelit, and expensive dinners aren't for everyone; if you're one who wants to just say "no" to cliche, we hope you found an inspiring Valentine activity on our list!
Is there another un-cliche activity you would add to the list? Let us know in the comments!
