We love everything weddings and love even more that we get to be a part of them often with a front row seat of all the trends, projects, and dreams come true. Each and every wedding we are apart of, we find ourselves amazed and inspired by the creativity, trendsetting, homage to tradition, and everything in between. Our brides are second to none!
As 2015 comes to a close, there has been no shortage of wedding headlines and stories that have stirred up all sorts of emotions along their viral ride. Here are just a few of our favorites that you may have missed!
1. 80 bridesmaids!?
This bride may not be able to say "no," but she certainly gained a lot of attention and made all 80 of her closest friends feel very special.
2. Corgi Bouquets
Dream big, brides! This bride posted an ad online asking to "rent" sociable corgis for her bridesmaids to carry in lieu of flowers on her big day. More power to you, bridal puppy lover!
3. Whiskey Wedding Cam
While we love a good GoPro project and are all about wedding guests having a great time and making connections, we have to say- this one brings out the mild germaphob in us. Do you know where those lips have been!?
4. Four Siblings Share Wedding
...And we thought a double wedding was crazy! Three sisters and their brother all decided to wed on the same day, sharing a huge reception that was undoubtedly a great party. Do any of our brides want to recreate that kind of celebration??
5. Newlywed Light Saber Duel
We love when couples incorporate their favorite things in their big day! This Star Wars loving couple certainly takes the cake.
6. Doggie Videographer
Hiring a videographer can often be one of the first expenses to be cut from a wedding budget if funds get too low. Why not follow the lead of this savvy couple and have Fido do the honors instead? We heard he takes payment in the form of Milkbones and belly rubs.
7. There's No Age Limit for Flower Girls
We love brides and grooms who break away from the norm! This Connecticut couple asked their grandmothers to be flower girls in their wedding because they knew they would have fun doing it. What more reason do you need than that?
8. Epic Wedding Toast
These sisters took their joint maid of honor speech to a whole new level and the internet couldn't be happier.
9. One-Take Wedding Video
We can't stop watching this awesome wedding video! The creativity, humor, and pizzazz- not to mention the organization of all the guests!- is stunning. Any of our brides who wants to put their own spin on this is more than welcomed by us!
10. Groomsmen Dance
What do you get when you mix a dancing groom, a handful of groomsmen who are secure in their masculinity, a great song, and a bride who needs to be surprised? THIS.
While 2015 produced so many epic wedding memories, there are a handful that stick out to us. What memorable wedding stories stuck out to you this year?
2015 was chock-full of good music! As the year comes to a close, we wanted to compile a list of some of favorite songs from the past 12 months.
1._ Uptown Funk
Love it or love to hate it, you probably know at least some of the words to this song from Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars.
We're going from uptown to downtown on this list! We love this beat and catchy lyrics from Macklamore and Ryan Lewis, and don't even mind when it gets stuck in our head for days.
3. Shut Up and Dance
While we don't recommend walking up to a stranger and leading with "shut up and dance with me," somehow, Walk the Moon makes it seem like the best possible thing we could do.
4. Love Me Like You Do
It's possible that 2015 was Ellie Goulding's year. She came out with some really good songs and gained a great following. We'll just keep on pretending she's singing this song to us, her lowly fans.
5. Elastic Heart
The popularity of this song could in part be because of Shia LeBouf appearing in the video, we love it regardless. Another win for Sia.
6._ Thinking Out Loud
What would this list be without Ed Sheeran? Being in the wedding business, we have certainly played our fair share of this song and there's no doubt why. It pulls at heartstrings and is full of lyrics that most anyone could identify with.
7. Marvin Gaye
Okay, we're not afraid to admit how much we love this collaboration with Charlie Puth and Meghan Trainor. While the jury is still out on whether or not this is appropriate wedding music, we think you should go for it (as long as grandma has a sense of humor!).
8. How Deep Is Your Love
This great song by Calvin Harris & Disciples is the perfect tune to get you dancing, or at last tapping your thumbs on the steering wheel. Another feel-good beat by Calvin. Would you expect anything less?
How could a song done by Rihanna, Kanye, AND Paul not make our list!? It would be a travesty. This goes in the books as one of the best collaborations of all time.
It only makes sense to round out this list with one of the greatest comebacks and the song that was met with the greatest amount of anticipation in our lifetime. Adele certainly did not disappoint when she jumped back onto the scene after taking some time off for medical reasons. Helllllo, Adele.
.With just two weeks until the Christmas, you're either bopping along to Christmas tunes or you're tapping into your scrooge-like tendencies. Whether or not this is your favorite time of year, Christmas stirs up many emotions and memories for most people.
What are your christmas traditions? Maybe you look back on past holidays without the fondest of memories. Maybe you want to continue to recreate certain traditions for many years to come. Either way, we think you will like this list we've compiled of Christmas traditions that you may love already or would love to begin with your loved ones.
1. Ice Skating
You may be blessed to live somewhere with an outdoor rink or body of water. You may be blessed to live somewhere warm outside with a perfectly cooled indoor rink. Most cities have options when it comes to ice skating around the holiday. We love the tradition of taking a break from presents and cookies to take a hand-in-hand skate around the rink on Christmas Day.
2. Christmas Lights
Remember that feeling you got as a kid when your parents would drive you down that ONE street that was just decked to the Christmas max? So do we, and we think you can still feel that today! You can decorate your own home with lights or find a grand presentation in your area.
What better excuse to pull out all the stops (and eat them) than the holidays? Find a favorite or nostalgic recipe, host a cookie swap, or bake treats for a local retirement or children's home. One day, that recipe you have written on a scrap of paper and pinned to your refrigerator could be the heirloom passed down and talked about for generations.
Christmas is a time of year when a lot of people reflect on their blessings and look for a way to give back. This is a great opportunity to begin a tradition in your family or circle of friends. Host a gathering for all attendees to bring donations for a local charity, take your kids shopping for the less fortunate instead of themselves, donate your time to deliver meals, decorate, or just sit with someone who has no family with whom to spend the holidays. A little gesture can go a long way (but trust us- you probably won't want to stop at a little gesture!)
5. Christmas Movies
The good, the bad, and the hokey...we get it! Some are staples during December and some are just plain awful. You could plan one night a week for all of December to watch a randomly-chosen Christmas movie, or everyone in your family could pick their favorite to watch for one night. The possibilities are endless and while some may grumble, they will remember the tradition fondly.
Advent is the countdown to Christmas and there are many ways to commemorate. Many stores sell chocolate advent calendars (yummy!) but you could also make you own creative advent calendars. There are also many schedules for things to do each day of advent, which leads us to...
7. Read the Christmas Story
If you celebrate Christmas, then you probably at least have a general understanding of the meaning and origin of the holiday. Why not make it a tradition to follow a Christmas reading plan the days leading up to Christmas? You can find some good ones here.
8. Play all the best Christmas Tunes
It's only appropriate we wrap up this list with one of our favorite things all year long! Whatever you make your tradition, if it's wrapped with music, it will be a tradition that will stand the test of time. Get creative or stay classic- the possibilities are endless and don't have to be complicated. Maybe you go caroling, rewrite the lyrics to a few classics, perform a family concert, or play only Christmas music for a certain amount of time before Christmas day.
Whatever your Christmas traditions are, make them memorable and make them yours. Hopefully this list will get your wheels turning on things you can begin doing this holiday season or help you realize that you already have some traditions that are special to you and your family!
We want to hear from you... what Christmas traditions do you look forward to every year? What traditions do you hope to start?
